Description

Yes. There's a better way to control your Sonos system.

- Speeds up most common tasks (less taps)
- Cleaner, more stable and fast interface.
- Backward compatibility is king (we support Sonos S1 firmware and also iOS12 devices)
- Manage zones and music sources.

You control your Sonos. Not the other way around.

See the features in action on YouTube (http://youtu.be/rvp4QinakL0) or read more below.

◆◆◆ A new, intuitive and concise user interface ◆◆◆
SonoPhone is designed to leverage the latest iOS design principles:
- Tap or drag the player on the top and you'll find the players view to select a new player and with volume controls for all players. From here you can also enter Zone Management, where you can group and ungroup players with drag and drop.
- Tap or drag the Track infos on the bottom and you'll be at the big covers screen
- Drag the main menu from any place to the left or right to have instant access to playlist or shortcuts
- volume + progress popups: when changing volume or progress of a song, you get popups telling you the actual values. Stop guessing your desired values today!

◆◆◆ less taps for common tasks ◆◆◆
SonoPad tries to optimize most often used tasks to have the least taps needed. In the end you are able to navigate and control your players much more fluently.

- Touch To Play: are you sick of always beeing asked what to do when you tap a track or album? SonoPhone defaults to just starting an album or song. A long press still gives you access to all options - you can also change the tap default in the settings menu. Want to build a playlist fast? Just set the default to 'always add to end' and off you go ...
- tap an album cover image and the whole album starts to play immediately
- aggregated search: search results are collapsed into one view, so you see immediately in what category you have the best results, without switching back and forth
- shortcuts to most used functions: drag the main menu to the right to get shortcut buttons for artist, albums, radio and musicservices.
- you can control the volume of every player directly from the player selection screen. No need to switch players anymore.

◆◆◆ S1 and S2 devices in one app ◆◆◆◆
- If you still have old S1 devices, the time of always having to change apps is over. We simply display all existing players in the network in one list. Grouping is unfortunately not possible, this is prevented by Sonos.

◆◆◆ Limitations ◆◆◆

- all music services except YouTube Music are supported
- no support for administrative features (adding/removing players, music service, ...). You need the official Apps for initial setup of your system, SonoPad will pick up all changes automatically.
- no options to set alarms or sleep settings
- no playing of music stored on iPhone
- no support for discontinued WD100 dock

◆◆◆ Other stuff ◆◆◆

What’s New

Version 1.7.12

Thanks a lot for your feedback and bug reports. This version resolves several minor issues:

- this version comes with some (slightly) updated UI on the main menu. You will see bigger headers for your menus as seen on other Apps. We also subtly changed the style of album covers. We will continue making some UI updates in the next update
- on a fresh install it sometimes took 'ages' (ok - maybe a minutes or an app restart) to detect your Sonos boxes. This was due the initial lacking network access rights. Now the app searches right away when it detects that you have given local network access rights, making the first time start much smoother for new users
- there was a bug for Deezer where the "Deezer Flow" and some similar programs didn't start
- switching to TV wasn't visible on Beam 2nd generation and Sonos Port
- improved accesibility labels in voice over mode
- in rare situation, the Sonos players could not send their status updates to SonoPhone

As always: If anything is not working as you expect don't hesitate to contact support@sonophone.net

Feature request and great personal music library search

The thing I love the most about this Sonos controller is its powerful music library search. I do a keyword search and it gives me almost instantly the albums and tracks that have that contain that word. I have my cd library on a network attached storage (NAS) device. Otherwise, the app is functionally a largely a complete replacement of the Sonos provided controller.

I have a feature request. The Pandora app allows you to swipe back and replay previously played songs. The Sonos app does not offer that, so I would like to request that in SonoPhone. Also, it would be great to have an option to see only the album art and music controls without the menus for the app. I would argue music lovers also have aesthetic sensitivity (care how things look, too). Because of the less attractive appearance of the app, for now, I will stick with the glacially, marginally improving Sonos maker’s controller.

Thanks for a great app!

It just makes so much sense...

I've been getting more and more frustrated with all the buggy problems with the Sonos app in the past few weeks, and was online looking for solutions when I saw mention of Sonophone. I just installed that on my iPhone and I don't know how but it just worked right "out of the box." All my speakers are there, my Pandora service, and even though the release notes of this app say that there's no playing of music store on iPhone, I am not having any problem streaming music from my iPhone music app to a Sonos One and on to the rest of the speakers with AirPlay like I always did with the Sonos app. The only thing it seems to not do that I would want is to have more under the hood control of Sonos like allowing us to change the 2.4 GHz channel again, but that's probably not realistic for a non-Sonos app. Thank you so much for making this available!

Can finally play music from my NAS

Like so many others I found this app after Sonos botched the official app, removing functionality that had made the app and Sonos eco system great, one being able to play music one have on a NAS drive. After I downloaded the app the my music library was empty, but Stefan provided quick support and pointed to an article he had written about reconnecting your local library to your Sonos account. I had to download the windows Sonos controller on my PC and was able to add my NAS drive there and a few minutes later I saw all my music on the app. The app is much quicker than the new official app. Thank you Stefan for making a basic Sonos app that simply “works”.
