Introducing RainDrop - Your Virtual Rain Gauge!

Ever looked outside and wondered, “How much rain did we get?” Whether you’re a farmer like my dad, who needs to know how much rain his fields have received, or someone who takes care of a garden, lawn, or works outside, knowing about rain is super important. My dad needed to know how much rain fell on his crops. He looked everywhere but couldn’t find the right answer. So, I made RainDrop just for him—and now, for you too!

RainDrop is like magic and is the best app for rainfall totals. It tells you exactly how much rain fell right where you need to know. No more guessing or wondering. It’s like having your very own rain gauge that fits in your pocket. Whether it’s your backyard, your farm, or somewhere else, RainDrop knows.

With RainDrop, you can:
• See how much it rained from anywhere in the US
• Track rain for all your important spots
• Check daily rain totals from yesterday, last week, or even last year
• Determine if your location is muddy based on rainfall
• See if you are above or below the average rainfall
• Easily share rainfall data with your friends

Currently, RainDrop tracks rain only in the contiguous United States (excluding Hawaii, Alaska, and US territories...for now!).

At RainDrop, it's just Rylan and Sai, a tiny team of two, working constantly to make RainDrop even better for you. We care deeply about ensuring it meets everyone's needs and even offer a chat feature so you can communicate with us directly.

We made RainDrop simple so anyone can use it. You don’t need to be a tech wizard. If my non-tech-savvy dad can use it, you can too!

So, whether you need to keep tabs on the rain for your business, check the conditions of a golf course, or use it for hundreds of other purposes, RainDrop has got you covered.

Download it now and stay informed about rainfall without even needing to be there!

Great App

I’ve only had this app a couple of weeks, but so far it’s doing quite well. I normally don’t rate apps til I’ve had them for a while, but the customer service here has been fantastic. I had a couple of questions, and Rylan answered them very quickly. I had a couple more questions, and right back he came with answers.
As long as you realize this app is a general indication of the amount of rainfall in your area, I believe you’ll be satisfied. Remember, it can rain several inches across the fence, and you won’t get a drop. Keep that in your mind when you use this app and you should be happy.

Great For Our Industry!

We love the app for it’s accuracy! In the Storm Water Compliance industry, it’s very vital to know what rain amounts are happening on all of our sites, and this app delivers! It’s off from time to time (not much), but that’s pretty good figuring we have hundreds of sites! We still use our standard rain gauges, but this app is helpful in determining what sites we should focus on and what we can put on the back-burner. It’s been very nice to have an assistant keeping track of it all!

Glad it could help out your industry! Over time our app will become even more accurate!

Bait and switch

When I downloaded RainDrop a few weeks ago, you were allowed to have three rain gauges in the free version. This morning when I opened the app there was a notification that the free version now only allowed two gauges.
Fine, I get it, you’re trying to get subscribers, but taking away features doesn’t make users want to suddenly shell out $40-50/year. If anything it disincentivizes it. Add features that make the free users want to upgrade. Carrot vs. stick.
I’m not deleting it, but I am certainly not paying to get the data I previously had access to. And now the chances of me upgrading are next to zero.
