Despite the claim that this chair will support 1000 pounds, it will not hold up to even light use by a 275 pound person.

Yes, I'm a big guy. I'm 6'2", 275 pounds. I used one of these chairs for approximately 1 hour per day while playing my guitar. That is the only thing I used the chair for. After a little more than three months, the seat plastic tore at the edge, rendering the chair unusable. I should note that it occurred after I had been sitting in the chair for approximately half an hour, not as I sat down (i.e. the chair was under a relatively static load). The frame of the chair seems very sturdy, but the plastic seat simply can't support anywhere near the weight the manufacturer claims.

So, if you are a big guy like me, and expect this chair claiming it can support 1000 pounds would be perfect, look elsewhere. It's a shame; it's very nice looking for a folding chair. A failure like this can cause someone to injure their back (or break their favorite guitar).

This chair was sold and shipped by Amazon, and is indeed a Mity-Lite. The manufacturer's stickers are still on two of the chairs. The manufacturer has not yet responded to my email.
