Our Asia Chair Hannah Ha and partner Allison Lee were quoted by Hong Kong Economic Times in three articles discussing business opportunities between China and the Middle East. Commenting on the market trends, Hannah said that China and the Middle East have strengthened their cooperation in recent years. Energy, trade, and infrastructure are the traditional key areas of cooperation between the two regions. Meanwhile, the Middle East's rapid restructuring in recent years to establish a more diversified economic structure aligns strongly with China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative. Sharing her view on the role of Hong Kong, Allison said that expanding cooperation between China and the Middle East is an undoubted trend, and Hong Kong, as an international financial center, could play a crucial role as a 'super-connector' between China and the Middle East. She added that Hong Kong has a large number of ESG funds, issuing more than a third of Asia's green and sustainable bonds, which are suitable for the Middle East's economic and industrial transformation.
