In a surprise release that came out of nowhere, a port of the micro-release of SOULCALIBUR IV for the PSP, is now available on the PS4/PS5 store for digital download. Broken Destiny is mostly known for being the introduction of the character Dampierre to the roster. It also included Kratos from God of War as a playable guest. This release was obviously made in time to match the release of the brand new free DLC for God of War: Ragnarok.

The official @soulcalibur Twitter account announced this morning that in one week, SC5 will be officially removed from all console shops. While you will be able to continue playing the game, you will no longer be able to purchase it, or any of it's DLC. If you have not yet done so, now would be the time to pick it up!

No reason was given for the delisting, but one has to assume it has to do with licensing rights for music and/or characters.

Valiant Warriors - Soul Calibur V is taking its final curtain call on the stage of history and will be sunset on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 19, 2023. The base game and all associated DLC will no longer be available for purchase. Thank you for your continued support.

A new DLC character means new patch notes! In addition to various character specific changes, this update includes an overall nerf to damage output during soul charge, as well as a slight nerf some vertical tracking.

The newest and final season 2 DLC character has just been announced at this weekend's SOULCALIBUR European Open Online tournament. The new character, named "Unknown Soul", is labelled as the "Secret Royal Blademaster". It's totally not Hwang guys. Totally not Hwang will be released worldwide next week on December 2.

As another year goes by, we get another big platform upgrade for this website and forums! Lots of changes, which led to an extended downtime today (in addition to our 3 minutes of downtime every morning for regular maintenance). While last year's upgrade brought some pretty big structural changes, this year's upgrade is more of small quality of life changes.

Seemingly, and without any sort of fanfare, the newest balance patch for SOULCALIBUR VI has been released! Patch notes are below.

With season 2 of SOULCALIBUR VI finally continuing after several months of hiatus, comes another set of battle adjustments!

Long hinted at, and long awaited for, Setsuka has just been announced for a return to SOULCALIBUR VI! Setsuka was first introduced in SOULCALIBUR III, and her moveset was adopted by Alpha Patroklos in SOULCALIBUR V. Official release date for Setsuka is set for August 4. Along with Setsuka, also announced was the 2.20 balance update to be released alongside her, as well as the next character creation pack.

We reported a few months ago that SOULCALIBUR VI was added to the official lineup for EVO 2020. EVO 2019 being the largest SOULCALIBUR tournament ever, it was nice to see VI get another year at the premiere event. Unfortunately, due to complications caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus, the event has been officially cancelled. This was just announced on the @EVO twitter.
