Magdala Louissaint

Magdala Louissaint is an anchor and reporter and joined WVTM 13 in October 2020.

Before coming to Birmingham, she worked in Roanoke, Virginia, and Pocatello, Idaho. She started off in the business as a production assistant in Washington, D.C.

When in Idaho, Magdala earned an award from the Idaho Broadcasting Association for "Best continued coverage on ‘Cyanide the Toxin.’" Magdala is also an Emmy-nominated journalist for her part in a Virginia station special covering the protests surrounding George Floyd’s death in the summer of 2020.

She graduated from Frostburg State University in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and minored in journalism and public relations.

Magdala is Haitian-American and from Maryland. She’s a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., the National Association of Black Journalists and the Society of Professional Journalists.
