Hundreds of suspected criminals have been arrested in southeast Wisconsin after a months-long U.S. Marshals operation.
The operation called "Big Top" led to 260 arrests, 29 of which were for homicide.
The arrests were made around southeast Wisconsin between April 1 and June 30, with the help of police and sheriff's departments in Milwaukee, Racine, Wauwatosa and Waukesha.
The U.S. Marshals said they intensified their work to find fugitives leading up to summer when there's an influx of visitors to the Milwaukee area.
Operation Big Top resulted in:
- 260 arrests, 29 for homicide
- 437 warrants cleared
- 83 firearms seized
- 132.8 kg of narcotics seized
- $84,547 seized
"I could not be prouder of the collaborative work our Task Force does," said U.S. Marshal Anna Ruzinski. “Day after day this group is relentless on hunting and arresting violent fugitives, while keeping the community and all involved safe. It does have a positive impact on combatting crime.”
