Aarons Acres kicks off annual summer camp for children with disabilities
Aarons Acres, a nonprofit organization in New Holland, Lancaster County, is giving children and young adults with disabilities the full camp experience.
This year, the six-week summer camp has over 95 participants coming from six different counties to get the exposure they deserve.
To relieve parents' worries, the camp offers one-on-one support from staff and trained medical professionals to meet the children's medical needs or behavioral needs.
The camp offers a safe and fun environment for the children as well as an opportunity for the campers to engage in community service projects offered by the group's Act of Kindness Program.
Within the next two weeks, the camp's older group will be going to Garden Spot Retirement Community to give back to the residents by participating in a car wash and playing a game of bingo.
In addition to community service, the camp offers activities like musical therapy, swimming, horseback riding, fitness and petting zoo visits to keep them engaged.
