Search continues for wanted man in Pocahontas County
THE ADAIR COUNTY FAIR’S WEBSITE. RIGHT NOW, DEPUTIES IN POCAHONTAS COUNTY ARE ASKING PEOPLE TO LOCK THEIR DOORS AS THEY SEARCH FOR A MAN WANTED BY FEDERAL AUTHORITIES. THE MAN THEY’RE LOOKING FOR IS NATHAN NICHOLAS. THIS IS A PICTURE PROVIDED TO US BY LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND WE’RE NOW LEARNING WHY LAW ENFORCEMENT IS AFTER HIM. ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS, NICHOLAS WAS SUPPOSED TO GO ON TRIAL FOR CHARGES RELATED TO UNLAWFULLY TRANSPORTING FIREARMS AND DRUGS. HE FAILED TO SHOW UP TO COURT MONDAY. THE JUDGE ISSUED AN ARREST WARRANT. HE WAS LAST SEEN IN ROLFE YESTERDAY AFTER DEPUTIES SAY HE LED AUTHORITIES ON A CHASE. NICHOLAS THEN RAN INTO A CORNFIELD. Deputies in Pocahontas County are urging people to lock their doors as they search for a man wanted by federal authorities.The man they're looking for is Nathan Edward Nickless. According to court documents, Nickless was supposed to go on trial for federal charges related to unlawfully transporting firearms and drugs. He failed to show up to court on Monday and the judge issued an arrest warrant.Nickless was last seen in Rolfe on Tuesday, after deputies say he led authorities on a pursuit. Nickless then ran into a corn field. Authorities from various local, state and federal agencies looked for him for hours before calling off the search early Wednesday morning.Law enforcement says Nickless is armed and dangerous.
