Me, 25 hours in: “I don’t know. It’s pretty slow, I’m having trouble getting into it.”
Coworker who recommended the game: “Just hang in there. Once you get to hour 60 this thing really picks up!”
Still in Act 1. I think the gameplay suffers slightly by being too beholden to D&D rules. I like the dice rolls. I don’t see how the combat system would be worse with an action-point system. That being said;
Astoundingly beautiful and detailed world. unreasonable, sky high production values. Wonderful soundtrack. A very interactive world, bordering on immersive sim levels of creativity, but within a Gigantic open world. Dude, it is *well-acted*. Compare to DOS2, one of my all time favorites. Voicework was good but those characters didn’t even have animated lip flaps - this has *performances* where the actors are making *choices*. Unreal.
