Essentially, I’ve played this game before, called Horizon 1 or any Assassin’s Creed game. You’ve probably played it before too.
The world is gorgeous yet the reasons for exploring it often aren’t worth the effort. There’s so much potential, the machines are amazing though could be even bigger, the cauldrons remind me of the Matrix, I should love it. Sadly exploration and the story is forced and I just don’t care about it or anyone in it.

7 is an on-the-fence number. That’s how I feel about this game having beat it: I’m on the fence. I can’t work out whether I like it or not. I played it to completion so it’s clearly got something going for it but I can reflect on so many frustrations. I don’t like the “art style”, it’s just poor graphical lighting. The game got easier the more it went on. Bosses are normally my favourite part of a game but I didn’t enjoy them. They were either frustratingly unbalanced or frustrating to get back to after death. Then by the end they were dying in seconds so what was the point. I enjoyed all the enemies in between bosses — that felt like a time I could explore the gameplay mechanics, whereas bosses were button mashers. I also cannot get on without a map. It’s fine for initial exploration but when the player is having to back track and rediscover old sanctuary’s to expunge a map is needed. The individual levels are well designed structurally and I found myself hunting out the loot even if I rarely used it because it didn’t align to my character. The overall world no doubt looks great but traversing it did not respect my time. Some folks will enjoy going through NG+ 7 times. I’m gonna go and a play sometime else instead.

Masterpiece! Enjoyed this so much. The core concept of instruction manual discovery guiding your path. Everything you need to know is right there in the game. Don’t look anything up. Amazing adventure puzzler. My mind is sated.

Another Resident Evil platinum trophy. I preferred third person perspective. A strong mix of areas and bosses to work through in what appears like any order initially but turns out to be linear due to keys needed. As always with these games, enjoyed the multiple play throughs with unlockables, higher difficulty and speed runs. Rose Winters bonus level was a nice addition with fresh ideas.
Mercenaries mode proved to be the biggest challenge due to luck involved for abilities unlocked on any given run. Very close to a 10.

Beautiful story told through the lens (!!) of a photographer on an adventure. Kind of a ‘collect all the things by taking photos of them’ but that never felt boring. In fact, it was a very fun and cozy game. Great sound. Only a few hours start to finish and did everything you’d expect a game to like that. It was perfectly paced and the right length overall. Masterpiece!

I’ve played every F1 game since 2016 and it’s more of the same. The story was a good continuation from what was included in F1 21. Really that’s all I’ve played. I’ve have done the Career and My Team modes over and over every year. I had a little dabble but not enough to pull me in to do it all over again. If it wasn’t for the short but exciting story I would have scored a 7. Next year really needs something new to the formula and to invest more effort into maximising fidelity of all cars, tracks and human models (which are looking really neglected at this point). The racing mechanics are spot on! The team should invest in visual fidelity, AI and realism.

Only ever played a demo of the original so was excited to play this remake. It did not disappoint. I came to this hot off the back of getting platinum in RE3 and enjoyed it so much I did the same with RE4. Required multiple play through to achieve platinum but none of them felt like a grind and that’s what gets it a 10. Now to head back and try to platinum RE2.

Amazing spider man was amazing!!! The story really shines through main and side missions introducing and hinting at villains which I’m hoping DLC brings us more of. Also, OP MJ was very welcome. Overall it’s more of what you loved from the previous entries which at the same time left it lacking a little in anything game changing.

Great game. Great art. Great story told through art and puzzle play. Played it with the kids which was a bonus and hopefully taught them a thing or two about tidying.

Loved this game. Excellent art style, characters, level design and puzzles with a sprinkling of humour. Lots of hidden and post game content too. Would happily have played more. Some bosses, whilst great character, were a little easy. Umbrella run for the win!!

Great game. Felt like a kung fu master by the end, even though I was far from one. Had to knock difficulty down to Student mode to achieve some of the harder trophies which felt good to be able to do. Otherwise it would have required hours and hours of relentless repetition to achieve mastery which stops being fun. Student mode maintains the fun level and by no means makes it “easy” but balances achievable and fun. Platinum achieved. Had a play around in Arena mode which is new and provides even more to die-hard fans. I’m moving onto something else.

Really enjoyed this, fun and action packed. Lacked the same scary atmosphere at RE2 but worth the ride all the same. Much shorter too which allowed for some speedy replay value. Completed final run in an hour and a quarter to get the platinum.

No spoilers. Play and experience what is probably like no other game you’ve ever played. The ending was a particular spectacle for the eyes which was unexpected and very enjoyable.
Only a 9/10 as I’d heard about it before playing and knew a pacifist run was possible killing nobody. Without referencing a guide lots and lots throughout I don’t think I’d have been able to achieve this. I love a challenge but if it’s too cryptic it’s verges away from fun for me as there’s too many games, not enough time.
I also don’t feel the urge to return for a second different run but that doesn’t mean this game isn’t worth experiencing. It is!

Loved this! A stunning puzzle game that progresses in complexity. You play as a spiritual dog who guides never ending streams of humans from gateways to completion portals. Along the way are special Goldy humans to collect as an extra challenge that unlock cosmetic options the more you get.
I played on PS5 which it runs so smoothly on, especially when there’s thousands of things moving on screen at some points. Even zooming in really close on the level select hub shows how sharp and gorgeous this game is.
The best thing about Humanity is the satisfaction felt when you finally work out how to complete a level. Trial and error is your friend here. I recommend staying away from guides and work it out yourself. When you eventually see the solution you’ll have that ‘a ha’ moment again and again.
I can’t think of anything missing from this game, apart from maybe more and more level, and they’ve got you covered there with user generated stages. 10/10. Platinum trophy earned. Enjoy!

Finally beat beat it on hard, getting the platinum and finishing off the immaculate one. I was a huge fan of the original as a kid and this might be the most beautiful game so far. Hard difficulty really forces you to learn and appreciate everything combat and materia setups has to offer. It’s a shame hard isn’t available on the first play through as to do everything the game has to offer forces you to replay some of the games more tedious designed levels that simply aren’t enjoyable. Hope some of that gets tweaked in Rebirth which will no doubt be a day one purchase.

I’ve never played a game like Inscryption before, and that’s a good thing. I saw to avoid reading too much about it before playing which I’m glad I did as the twists were a genuine and pleasant surprise. It starts as a roguelike card game and then does things you don’t expect it to. Enjoy!

Got on sale for £10. I enjoyed it for a first edition of an F1 Manager game. Lost interest after one season and there’s clearly an issue with weather change and safety cars. Lots they can improve on though so will check out a future edition.

Amazing game. The new synergy mechanics were a welcome addition. Beat on Hard and went about getting all trophies so definitely enjoyed it. Had to look up a few of the late game characters who the game assumes players will know but I’m not familiar with the full FF7 series. Besides that, truly stunning game.
