Just a breathtaking game in all aspects.
The small bit of story is intriguing enough, but the repetitive gameplay and repeated locations really starts to drain your desire to complete.
An actual good little RPG fits nicely into the entire South Park theme nicely. A decent enough variety to keep you engaged through its relatively short story.
This game has an undeniable charm. It absolutely wins as a couch coop or a game to play with friends. But playing with strangers is more frustrating than anything else, and the rinse, repeat nature of the entire thing loses it's shine after a short while
This was a fun little game with great visuals. Each new character is exciting getting to learn the new powers and fighting styles, but the game begins to suffer from excessive repetitiveness, doing the same thing over and over to get to the next cut scene. I enjoyed it, but found myself desperately pushing to end it.
This took a little bit to get the feel for. Its not user or beginner friendly, but there is a gem hiding under the surface. I got some very early Elden Ring-esque vibes from some of the systems, in particular the vocations, and just the general overworld, which makes me look forward to what the upcoming modern sequel will hold.
I actually really enjoyed this game for casual fun. Minecraft with some RPG elements, made for a delightful little game.
I didn't hate this game. As a straightforward action campaign, I enjoyed it. Gunplay was solid, flying is fun, and the world is very nice. The games downfall is that it was live service. The endgame is poor, the grind is bad, and of course now that its no longer supported, the odd bugs can be pretty aggravating.
Can't say much that hasn't been said. A truly fantastic RPG with so many varying options for playstyle, outcomes, and the likes. My only gripe being the insane length makes it difficult to enjoy every ending and aspect in this modern world of gaming where I have too much backlog to catch up on.
Not a terrible game, but suffers from a lack of variety. Very repetitive from beginning to the very short end.
I actually really enjoyed this game and put in ablut 60 hlurs naturally. The trophy tracking though is brutal, and glitchy, and by the time I had chased down the platinum, an extra 25ish hours longer than it should have taken really soured my experience. I think it's fun, but it won't be something I'll return to.
Loved that the sidequests each felt like their own complete mini story. An amazing story driven game that blends two protagonists together very well and gives each one just enough to feel adequately different.
Snake Eater is fantastic and always been one of my favorite games. Metal Gear Solid 2 is also great, and holds up decently, though the hunt for platinum trophy is ridiculous. Peacewalker was better than I expected. Never played the PSP version so this was new. The graphic novel style cutscenes were very cool, and I have the Ashley Wood MGS graphic novel itself, so to see that style in game was awesome
While a great game and good story overall, coming back to this game in 2023 reveals horrible and clunky controls with brutal gunplay/aim mechanics that almost make it unbearable. Bumped up the rating though because it's a decent classic.
The world design in this game is phenomenal, and the voice acting with metal legends is top notch. Although it has many charms in terms of storytelling, the game loses points for trying to mash together too many different game elements (I'm looking at you RTS sections).
I had major nostalgia goggles on for this one. I played it years ago and loved it. Coming back now, it felt a bit tedius at points, and dragged on a dungeon too long. The combat is not great, as it was always easier to just swap to a ranged character in battle, to avoid annoying enemies constantly backing away from your melee attacks or flying upwards. The charm of the town building though held up, and I enjoyed piecing together each village.
The ending bit of the game slows down and feels a bit more chore-like as you progress, but the overall gameplay loop and mid-game is loads of fun.
