This game just makes me feel dumb. I feel like I have to read the developer's mind for everything I do in the game. There are so many things you can overlook that can change your experience negatively. I don't want to think outside the box every time there's a new mechanic especially since they're being introduced what feels like every 15 minutes. Perhaps it warrants a replay, but it was really hard for me to finish this it took me five years just to beat it. It didn't help but it kept crashing at the worst times and I'm too dumb to save every 10 minutes. I can see how this was the **** back in 2007. But even the gunplay for the time was already starting to catch up. I did eventually figure out after a while of head banging that I needed to use the plasmid more, but it still felt extremely clunky to me swapping to it mid combat maybe I was just trying to play too fast. Just to say blatantly the hacking mechanic is probably the most disruptive thing I've ever had to use in a video game. In other thoughts I really didn't know what was going on with the story there was just too many tapes being played back-to-back switching gears to different stories of people that I couldn't remember the names of. The atmosphere is definitely a huge strong suit, but I never really felt like I was under the ocean to be frank not sure how you would really pull that off in an immersive way. I honestly really want to like this game, but it was just so frustrating maybe in another life.
This is my first Assassin‘s Creed game so my thoughts are definitely skewed, but I 100% the game. Never knew you could just jump around anywhere in an open world.
Surprisingly pretty good especially for its time, but if need to open a guide like constantly to finish the game in under 10 hours then the accessibility of the game is going to suffer. As seeing that one of the achievements is to finish the game in 3 hours. Saying all that surprisingly good experience all around once you understand the mechanics of the game. Will probably play the sequels in their remake form.
