While i do love a lot of the core elements and game design towards the beginning, this game becomes enormously repetitive not even halfway in, not only are the quests incredibly not creative and rarely have you do anything outside of "go here, shoot out, go here, shoot out on horse, you win" and missions rarely try to make the gun play interesting. The story is also insanely repetitive, consistently being little more than
"Help me find bill wiliamson"
"Okay after you do this"
"I did it"
"Jk im not gonna tell you"
Rinse and repeat, and the side stories are so annoyingly predictable, its always just, innocent request turns into lame attempt to be edgy and nihilistic, it falls flat everytime for me.
Pretty freakin cool, not mindblowing and also not really on par with the REmakes but still really neat
If getting a solo dub counts as beating it 😎👌
I hate this game
The scariest modern RE game imo, no matter how many times I replay, it scares the **** out of me. Great atmosphere and really creative and interesting return to the classic RE formula. The story isnt my favorite for sure, and a lot of the mechanics are just better in the next installments, but it was honestly a major step up in my opinion from just about everything before it. Marks the beginning of the Resident Evil revival, on a very strong note. I could talk about it for hours.
8/10 Wowoweewawoo!
Very beautiful, but is incredibly bogged down my mostly uninventive gameplay which is largely derivative of games before it. There's few new ideas, each of the five chapters only introducing one very minor mechanic that hardly does much to change the way you play the game. unsatisfying collectibles with no reward and long, shallow world building documents make straying off the beaten path more of a chore than optional content should be. All of this combined with very little challenge or problem solving, eximplified by the myriad of glitches I encountered anytime i even remotely went off of the exact path the game wanted me to take, you couldn't so much as step a little too close to the wall without risking getting permanently stuck in place. this game winds up being just another forgettable indie title for me, which is a shame, cause there is a very interesting world and concept here, that ends up just dissolving into the background.
