Oklahoma Highway Patrol alerts public about missing woman; law enforcement investigating in Arkoma
Oklahoma Highway Patrol has alerted the public about a woman who went missing under suspicious circumstances.
Harmoni Gail Jacks, 24, was last seen at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning. She was driving from Pocola to the Greenwood area, according to Hunter McKee, spokesperson for the OSBI.
Jacks was driving a red 2012 Nissan Altima with the Oklahoma license plate JYD 879. The front bumper is damaged or missing.
She is 5 feet and 1 inch tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has red hair and blue eyes.
Law enforcement says you should call 9-1-1 if you see her.
Arkoma Investigation
A large number of law enforcement vehicles were seen at a house in Arkoma Tuesday morning.
Their presence is "in relation to" the search for Jacks, according to Arkoma Police Chief Michael Ivy.
Vehicles with OSBI, Arkoma police, crime scene investigators and the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office were among those seen at the house.
Kasey Alert
The information about Jacks was released in a "Kasey Alert."
The Kasey Alert System, which went into effect on Nov. 1 and was established by House Bill 1077, is named in honor of Kasey Russell, a 29-year-old Cherokee Nation citizen who went missing in 2016. An investigation into the disappearance took several weeks to get started.
House Bill 1077 requires the Department of Public Safety to develop and implement a system for a critically missing adult, which is defined as someone between the ages of 18 and 59 whose whereabouts are unknown and who is believed to be abducted.
When a Kasey Alert is activated, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol issues the alert on behalf of a local law enforcement agency and sends out a flyer with available pertinent information about the critically missing person. That information can include the person's picture, a description of the person, their last known location and possible people or vehicles they could be in.
