Fayetteville police name new Deputy Police Chief
Fayetteville Police Department announced Monday a new Deputy Chief of Police. Tad Scott has been with the department since 1995, according to a facebook post on the department's page. He has served in numerous roles including detective, sergeant, lieutenant and captain since then.Scott takes on the role after Bradley Renfro was arrested in June. Renfro was arrested by Arkansas State Police on June 26 for charges including driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and a defective headlight.According to statement by Fayetteville Police Chief Mike Reynolds, Renfro retired from the department Friday July 5th. "Deputy Chief Renfro served the Fayetteville Police Department and our community with dedication and distinction for over 28 years, and I am grateful for his unwavering commitment and leadership. The men and women of the Fayetteville Police Department thank Deputy Chief Renfro for his service and wish him well in his retirement.""As I mentioned last week, Deputy Chief Renfro’s arrest for Driving While Intoxicated on June 27th was a disappointment, and this incident is not reflective of the values and standards of the Fayetteville Police Department. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of transparency, integrity, and accountability.”
