I had read prole.info’s internet-famous Abolish Restaurants before, and was excited for this one. It doesn’t disappoint - the book had a compelling style - starting with the smallest details of the building industry and wrapping around the argument: just when you think it’ll simply blame the bosses, or the capitalists, or some person it instead puts capitalism on trial. It didn’t convert me to a Marxist, but it certainly fueled my anti-capitalist feelings.
My biggest complaint the book, in fact, isn’t related to the content: prole.info chose a Futura-like typeface for the entire book, skimps on leading, and pulls some modernist tricks with text wrapping around graphics in odd shapes. The writing is well-edited and readable, but the typography doesn’t do it justice.
