PALO ALTO, U.S./MUMBAI -- From the loss of cricket streaming rights to low revenue, growing headwinds in India are forcing The Walt Disney Co. to consider selling off a portion of its streaming business in the 1.4-billion-strong market.

Disney's linear TV business "actually does quite well" in India, CEO Bob Iger said in an earnings call earlier this month, but "we know that other parts of that business are challenged for us and for others."
