We believe learning is essential for driving impact. Through learning, we can better understand how complex social change happens��and design effective program strategies to support it.

Our culture of learning at the Ford Foundation is centered primarily on three paths: evaluating our program strategies to identify what is working—or not working; creating space for our grantmakers and grantees to reflect on their work; and supporting independent research on important social justice issues and the philanthropic field.
