“The Chosen” star Jonathan Roumie joined “Reagan” star Dennis Quaid for a hilarious back-and-forth in their respective characters, shared on social media Wednesday.
Many of you might recognize Roumie for his breakout role as Jesus Christ in the absurdly successful series “The Chosen,” while everyone knows Dennis Quaid. But did you know that Quaid is playing former President Ronald Reagan in an up-coming biopic?
Both men bumped into pastor Greg Laurie at some point recently, who filmed their answers to a series of very important questions, including: “what if Ronald Reagan met Jesus? What would he say?”
Here’s a fun video.
I was with Dennis Quaid and @JonathanRoumie recently. Since Dennis has a film coming out at the end of this month titled “Reagan”where he plays the title role of of the 40th President of the United States and Jonathan plays the role Jesus so powerfully in… pic.twitter.com/LwkqEvhbvG— Greg Laurie (@greglaurie) July 10, 2024
“I was wondering if you could help me out with the Contras down in Central America?” Quaid replied in character as one of America’s favorite presidents. “And if you could talk to the Russians, I’d appreciate that too,” he added.
Laurie noted that the clip was all done in good fun. And he’s right!
One of the best things about Roumie’s portrayal of Christ, under the direction and scripting of Dallas Jenkins, is just how fun and approachable he makes the most important man in human history. My favorite aspect is how not-subtle the writing is around topics like collection plates, judgement of others and their practice of faith, and more.
Season four of “The Chosen” just dropped on The Chosen app. I highly recommend binge-watching the whole thing. (RELATED: One TV Show Could Finally Bring The World Together. Here’s Why)
“Reagan” hits cinemas on August 30. And it looks fantastic.
